How can I care for my Top?
Convertible and Vinyl Tops require the same kind of basic care. Never use Bleach or silicone based solvents.
The recommended care from convertible top manufactures are as follows:
Never leave your top down over night. Leaving it down more than 24 hours can allow the top to deform and may produce stubborn wrinkles. Do not lower your top when the temperatures are below 65 degrees.
Tips on Washing your top. First, rinse the surface removing as much dirt as possible. Dirt particles left on the surface will act like abrasives once you start to brush or rub. Stubborn stains may need a second application. Soft brushes and cloths, along with a mild soap and frequent cleaning are the only recommendations made.
Vinyl Rear Windows' require special care. To clean use plenty of water and soft cotton cloth. Paper Towels are made from wood and may cause scratches. When folding down your top, a cotton cloth between the folds of the vinyl window will help eliminate scratches.
Manufacturers do not recommend any protective solutions. Petroleum based products can destroy your water repellency.
